Stuff Swap

My morning Intermediate class participating in the Stuff Swap
Do you have too much useless stuff in your apartment? Are you going to let that ugly shirt your friend gave you just sit in your closet along with all those books you are never going to read? Don't let it clutter your place and don't just throw it away, STUFF SWAP!

We have a saying in English "One man's trash is another man's treasure" and someone you know may adore that dress or love to read those books. In turn, maybe they have something you would want. Instead of wasting money buying new things stuff swapping is a great way to both get ride of your clutter and save money by picking up a few things you want for free.

With all this in mind in the beginning of June in honour of Spring Cleaning I decided to have a Stuff Swap with all of my adult classes. For my High Beginners I used it as a way to practice past and present tense possessives and for the other classes it was a great away to encourage conversations with follow up questions. It's safe to say my students and I had a good time.

At the end of the day everything that was left over was donated to [charity's name], a large charity in South Korea much like America's Red Cross.

Sound like fun? Find a good charity and make a little event with your friends and family. Helping the world while cleaning out your closet has never been so easy!
