Weekly Photo: Jikso Fall

There aren't many waterfalls in the mountains like the ones in Korea, and certainly not a big one. But there's some pretty views here and there.

Tour Guide

Navigation : Follow the hiking path through the mountain for about 2 kilometers from the Inner Byeonsan Inquiry Support Center (내변산탐방지원센터, also known as Byeonsan Peninsula Office) at the Inner Byeonsan National Park in Buan. Follow the path by a small river and a lake, and you'll eventually find the Jikso waterfall.

There are 3 public city buses that go there from Buan Bus Terminal: 700, 701 and 710. It takes a bit over an hour to get there with about 20 stops on the way. We currently have no information about how often the buses come. Ask the guys in the Buan Bus Terminal or the driver. Send us updates if you get any info!

Some people prefer to take a taxi there and call a taxi to return. If you ride a mountain bike, this would be a good workout. Most people take personal vehicles. Or hitchhike. Or rely on the kindness of strangers.

Caution: It's a national park, which means the nature in this park is protected by the federal authority. There's no swimming or cooking allowed in the area. If you are caught, you could be fined up to 500,000 won.

Tip : If you want to see the waterfall, I suggest that you go right after it rains. A draught in the area could mean a completely inactive waterfall.
