Freedom Korea Part 1

An old Korean women
Every parents in Korea does every possible best things they know how for their children as any parents should. It is a dedication, love and care that any parents should have. However, South Korean's society has grown rapidly fast by adapting Westernized culture. And moral they had for thousands of years was harder to adapt in different reality. Only materialism was manageable. And with lessons they have been forced to taught in last century, they plugged one concept in their mind very thoroughly : Survival through submission.
It had the benefit of it's own. It worked to kept people alive, and it was considered safe for most people. With strong 'respect the elder' society, whoever's older was more comfortable dealing with anyone younger. They can do whatever they wanted to younger as long as it doesn't interfere with any higher powers, such as laws or any religions or maybe some self conscious. And younger was expected to do the same when they're the older. Majority of population thinks this is necessity, as in 'there is no other possible way of social life' necessity, even if they could be very unhappy about it.
'What life is', according to majority of Korean I talked to.
There are some harmonized cases, as it can happen in any other circumstances. There are people who's rather comfortable just following directions that others left behind for them. It's like going through a mine field without needing to have any knowledge of any mine for himself while accompanied by someone else who's relatively more experienced with it. Going mildly forward while staying alive is happy as they can get wether they enjoy the company or not. They do not need self thinking as they're letting someone else think everything for them. They did not bothered themselves with possibilities of ways to fly over it or taking the short cuts unless their companies are making them really desperate. Nobody likes stepping on the mines.
Some personalities with matching perks are quite happy with that, like the ones who are actually afraid of flying. They're usually very good at entertaining older while use younger for their own good. It is uncertain if they have a concept that they have to like it. But it's a cycle of at some point they can rightfully take something from weaker and gain things for themselves and they want their own turn to do it. And with practices that they have been educated with, they have no problem to be quite rude about it to others when they can.
Anyone older than 30 are greatly influenced by this type of life. More stubborn as they are older. And they are the ones teaching anyone younger. Some are parents who has kids now teaching the way of life that has been running in cycle for centuries in an old culture. And some are teachers in school who are also mostly old people teaching kids what they believe in. And they can only teach what they know.
Only two directions for the entire life?
I've yet to meet a Korean who questions a path number 3.
Title of their education is mostly about success in life. And then there are genre of free thinking, creativities, to be more successful. It is a nice book cover that made most kids think it must be a good thing, while content of the book itself was all about what must be done and what must not, rules and orders.
One was not allowed to think for him or herself. Cover of the book was deception and there was no free thinking. And that title free thinking these kids know of is a very small controlled box only applies for limited number of people. And that limited number of people dominated all the compliments made themselves examples. Anyone who was outside of the box was considered failure, kind of like bully cheerleaders think anyone ugly and nerds are deformed people without thinking of any possible geniuses none of the cheerleaders could possibly have, except this is a country wide single mind.
That was their education of free thinking. And in their experience, that was very insignificant. Freedom wasn't worth thinking much about to them.
At the end, they get to the point of realization who they are by what others told them what they must be. They've never been practiced to know who they are by thinking of one self. They don't know what they want beside staying alive. And even if they had a hint of discovering who they are, fighting for that Freedom is another matter. To survive through certain struggle for Freedom, one must motivate himself with what it's worth.
     Is Freedom worth dying for?
Most Korean says no, and they laugh at the idea as if it's a shallow joke.
